Why did I start this blog? πŸ€”

I am a seasoned techie with years of experience in technology consulting and sales, with my latest gig in cloud pre sales at a big 3 cloud company. In 2020, I took the leap of faith to start my MBA journey and after two attempts finally landed my part time MBA at a top 20 business school in the fall of 2022.

The journey to MBA itself has been quite a story. I graduated from Engineering in 2006 (yes, it’s been 16+ years since my undergrad! 😜) In my final year of engineering (because let’s admit it the final semester of engineering is all about placements, and I was already placed in my 3rd year i.e. the year before graduation), I had time to kill and doing a highly competitive MBA entrance exam seemed like fun back then!, I had an option to go to a decent business school right after undergrad. However, the attraction of a paycheck and finally living on my own was far greater attraction than another 2 years of school, so I choose the former.

Cut to a decade later, I was still wondering why I had not done a MBA yet. I always felt that I was inclined to learning more about strategy and operations with the companies I worked for and with, being curious as to what actually drove the P&L at the end of the day. I soon realized that the decisions made by a few, drive so much of direction and ultimately success of the many. Finally, after years of procastinating an education in business, I decided to commit myself to a MBA.

The journey so far (8 months into the program) has been full of rewarding moments, sleepless nights and neverending deadlines. However, I am so far enjoying this phase of my life. My work and personal aspirations seem to have finally coincided and I am looking forward to the future courses and the opportunity to network with the future CXO’s! Cheers πŸ₯‚
